2011 Mobile Phones

By Elliot Collier

With the New Year coming up, you can expect new mobile phones with the best mobile broadband technology around. Mobile broadband is crucial now because of the fact that everyone loves to go online and check their email or their social networking sites right from their phone. The phone tends to replace other broadband deals available online as you can tether it to work on your desktop or laptop.

BlackBerry Style

The BlackBerry Style is the second flip phone from the RIM company. The BlackBerry Pearl was the first, but it has had many bad reviews from customers. To date it's been known as the worst BlackBerry phone with the Storm coming in as a close second. The Style comes loaded with the BlackBerry 6 OS, Wi-Fi, and a five megapixel camera. It also has a full QWERTY keyboard, which is something that many mobile users love.

LG Optimus U

The LG Optimus U is another anticipated Android phone awaiting to be launched on December 13th. It has a QWERTY keyboard with Swype technology, a 3.2 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, and it'll be running Android 2.2 OS.

White iPhone 4

In Spring of 2011, Apple will launch the white iPhone 4. Supposedly, this will be released at the same time that the new iPhone generation. As of right now, it's rumoured that hardly anything will change on the device, except for the fact that it will be in a different colour and cheaper. The mobile broadband on it is pretty good as people mostly use this smartphone for applications and to browse the internet more than they talk on the phone.

Samsung W89

Samsung is launching their first flip Android phone in China with China Telecom. There's no price for it yet, but there are many features that are available. Some of the features that it includes are WiFi, GPS, 5.0 megapixel camera, and Bluetooth. It'll launch with the Android 2.2 Froyo operating system. It also has a front facing video camera so that you can video chat with other people. So far, it's just being exclusive in China but there's no word on whether it'll be made available in other countries or not. Broadband is definitely a popularity within the Chinese market and this phone is definitely great to use for tethering.
